Here it is a week after my Quincy 1/2 and I'm now a week away from my next race, a 5K in East Bridgewater. This happens to also be the day my oldest daughter is having her 7yo Birthday Party. Pirate themed and 25 kids showing up... BUSY week and weekend preparing for it.
My parents will be in town that day from Phoenix, so I think my Dad at least will see me race. This will be the first race he has ever seen me run. I'm pretty much embarrassed that I'm not in top shape for this, but we'll see how it goes. I tend to be a freak when the pressure is put on, so I think I'll do OK.
Let the fast paces begin! I'll start off with some short fartlek runs through Thursday... Nothing long, nothing to fast, just warm up the legs and let it fly on Saturday. No ankle pain for 3.1 will mean faster times than what I did during the Quincy 1/2. I'm thinking the best I will be able to muster will be about 23 minutes for this race, but we'll see.... Dad's watching this race, I may be able to kick it up a notch!
