It's been a crazy 2012!
We've added 2 foster girls that we've had since January. They are now 9 months and 2 years. The older one has been VERY difficult, but she's becoming a happy little girl! She's come so far... So that makes 5 girls in our home! This experience has definitely been difficult and challenging, but has been very rewarding at the same time. This has been a good experience for our own girls. This will be a great talking point for our family whenever things get tough. We can realize that there are others who have it more difficult than us.
I've also been doing great with the SynViscOne shot in my ankle. It's definitely been better... ...I also have not been running as much. I'm behind in my marathon training right now, and will keep you posted on how it feels over the next few weeks. I'm doing two marathons this Fall: Smuttynose in Sept., and Myles Standish in Nov.
I completed my first Triathalon too! ...a 1/2 iron-man (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run). I TOTALLY enjoyed the challenge, but next year I think I'll train for it. I trained for the swim, but only rode my bike 4 times and hardly ran. Right and 7 1/2 hours! I wasn't the last one to finish, but I was pretty close, and passed about 20 people on the run. I was dead on than bike and uncomfortable most of the way...
I started doing Cross-fit workouts a couple months ago... Stopped to taper for the Tri, and haven't been able to get back to it... Started up again yesterday... I hope to keep it growing through the fall and my marathons. Definitely great to have overall strength and fitness... I do love the group activity and these types of workouts. No way I would consistently push myself this hard. I need the accountability and the schedule...
More great things coming this year! Girls are in Swim Club, Disney in a couple weeks, A new school year for the girls. Callie's going into 1st, and Lily will be the big kid on campus (her school only goes up to 3rd).
